Leash Pulling and Barking at Bigger Dogs

Leinenführigkeit ❯ Leinenaggression

Hello Team,
I have my pet names Silly, he is a Shih Tzu. He is 3 years 3 months old now.
When we are walking on leash, he always pulls whenever he sees another dog.
However if the other dog is of same or similar size, he play with them; but if the other dog is a bigger dog like a Labrador, Dalmatian or a German Shepherd he becomes really aggressive and starts barking and pulling.

This act of getting aggressive towards bigger dogs has started in last 1 year, before that he used to play a lot even without leash as well with bigger dogs.

Please let me know, if you have some advise on how I can correct this behaviour.

Hello Pallav,

most dogs can very easily learn to look at their owners as soon as another dog appears - would you consider this to be a behaviour you would prefer over pulling towards other dogs or even barking aggressively at them?

If so, could you please observe and test what kind of rewards your dog considers to be
(a) ok
(b) good
(c) better than anything else (including other dogs)

I am looking forward to your answers.

Best wishes,
Stefanie Ott
